Japanese rope bondage - lets talk about safety

Well the girlfriend has decided she wants to do artistic rope bondage and turn me into human macrame. She told me not to be stupid and give it its proper name of Shibari but she apologized when she realised she had misheard me and thought I had said human macaroni. Even I am not that stupid but I do know enough to be concerned about safety when indulging in Japanese rope bondage or any other sort of bondage for that matter.

First of all when enjoying this sort of play “no” often means “yes” so choose a word that is not going to crop up naturally So you can really let your partner know things are going further than you would like, choose something like red or macaroni and then they will know when you really mean “no” or “nomore”

Secondly dont cut off circulation by tieing things too tight, several wraps of the rope around any part of the body you are tieing up and the thinner the bondage rope you are useing the more wraps you should make it. If you are a beginner it does not hurt to use an extra thick rope like the thick cotton bound to please sell.

If you loose sensation in anywhere that is tied up or it goes cold or a dark colour you know you are cutting off the circulation and it should be released straight away and rubbed (could be fun) to start the circulation again.

Finally a pair of scissors, sharp but with blunt or rounded points should be kept ready. The best ones are the bent ones they use in hospitals for cutting bandages.

Play safe and your rope bondage will be bound to please you and your partner
